HI spoke with Janey at Amerigas on Friday.  She told me that the community rate was going away.  I received a flyer in the mail from Amerigas last month which allowed a lock in to Ameriguard (a guaranteed rate) and sign up was until 8/29/08.  This flyer also allowed a waver of the $96 fee to join Ameriguard.  As I understand this plan you lock in the rate and that is the rate you get no matter what (even if the rate goes down).  To get out of Ameriguard the fee is $50.  Currently the community rate is $2.89.9 and the “Ameriguard” rate is $3.24.9.  I haven’t looked at my bill to confirm the $2.89.9 number.
